Our legacy of Innovation

 

Since its founding in 1928, Nihon Parkerizing has contributed greatly to the field of surface modification, especially for metals. We have led the world, and will continue to lead the world as a specialist in surface modification.

1928

 

Acquired patents for a steel rust preventive chemical and method, starting up with 9 employees.

 

  • introduced technology from Parker Rust-Proof Company (US) and started anticorrosion processing business in Marunouchi, Kojimachi-ku, Tokyo with capital of 150.000,- JPY (July 12; 1928).

 

1960-

 

Established our first overseas joint venture, and were listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

 

  • Listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
  • Established Chung Jih Metal Treatment Chemicals, Inc. in Taiwan.
  • Listing changed to the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

 

1970-

 

Expanded overseas as we celebrated our 50th anniversary.

 

  • PLATECOIL heat exchanger technology introduced with Tranter Inc. (US).
  • Paltec Co., Ltd. Test specimens company established.
  • Trutec Industries Inc. established (US).
  • Thai Parkerizing Co., Ltd. established (Thailand).

 

1980-

 

Newly established the research institute in Hiratsuka, strengthening our research and development organization.

 

  • P.T. Nusantara Parkerizing established (Indonesia).
  • Shenyang Parkerizing Co., Ltd. established (China).
  • P.I. of Europe N.V. established (Belgium).
  • Newly established and relocated Technical Research Center in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa, renamed "Central Research Laboratories".

 

2010-

 

Firmly established our position as the leader in the field of surface modification technology.

 

  • Selected as on of the Global Niche Top Companies 100.
  • Completed construction of the 2nd Parker Building (Nihonbashi, Tokyo).
  • Selected for inclusion in the Nikkei JPX 400.
  • "PALMIC", a self-depositing insulation coating, is introduced.

 

2020-

 

Sustainable management for the coming centenary and beyond.

 

  • Moved to the prime market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
  • Obtained Class I medical device manufacturing and sales license.

Message from the Director

 

Towards a new growth stage

 

P.I. of Europe N.V. has continuously worked to meet the evolving needs of our customers based on our corporate group philosophy, which is "to contribute to the effective use of limited resources on planet Earth, creating new value of resources through surface modification of all kinds of materials, preserving the global environment, and realizing an affluent society."

In recent years, not only have the needs of our customers become more diverse and complex, but the geographical scope of our customers has expanded around the globe. In addition, the environment faced by businesses is also radically changing with the rapid development of science and technology.

 

As we approach the Nihon Parkerizing Group centenary in 2028, the company has established a policy for this year of "Challenge for Change" to improve the flexibility of our corporate structure and ensure no one is left behind amidst these paradigm shifts. By transforming ourselves and creating a corporate culture in which past preconceptions do not limit us to surviving the next hundred years, we will provide more excellent value for our customers and stakeholders.

 

At the Nihon Parkerizing Group, they have formulated their vision for the future in their Vision2030 plan and are committed to increasing corporate value through sustainability management. As one of the measures to realize this plan, they will actively promote the development of technologies and applications related to the decarbonized society that will arrive in the near future, specifically technologies and applications associated with EV components and the hydrogen society. The focal point for research to achieve these goals will be the new Central Research Laboratories, scheduled to be completed in December 2024 in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa. I believe our mission is to improve our corporate value and to utilize the resources at the new research facility to find solutions to societal issues.

 

Under its catchphrase of transforming a diverse range of surfaces with chemistry, the Nihon Parkerizing Group will endeavor to continue to be a corporation with the trust of our customers and shareholders, excelling as a global niche corporation and pursuing sustainable growth while contributing to society through seeking solutions to social issues.
